Seorang warga asing mendakwa mengalami kecederaan kaki memerlukan
bantuan untuk keluar dari but kereta.
SUNGAI PETANI - Seramai 18 warga asing ditahan termasuk enam yang disumbat dalam but kereta ditemui oleh pasukan Peronda Lebuhraya Unit 4 Alor Setar-Sungai Petani, Bukit Aman (Zon Utara) dalam dua kejadian berasingan, awal pagi semalam.
Kejadian pertama disedari apabila kenderaan dipandu seorang lelaki dalam keadaan mencurigakan melalui Lebuhraya Utara Selatan dekat Kilometer 73.5 arah utara ke selatan pada kira-kira jam 1.50 pagi semalam.
Pasukan peronda terdiri daripada empat anggota yang mengekori kenderaan tersebut mengarahkan pemandunya berhenti namun suspek memecut laju sehingga melanggar palang susur keluar Plaza Tol Gurun.
Kejadian menyebabkan cermin hadapan kereta itu pecah sebelum terbabas ke tepi jalan dekat Jalan Bedong-Sungai Petani.
Pemandu dipercayai warga tempatan melarikan diri ke arah belukar dalam keadaan gelap.
Pemeriksaan ke atas kenderaan mendapati, bahagian tempat duduk belakang dipenuhi enam warga asing.
Polis bagaimanapun menemui tiga lagi warga asing dalam but kereta tersebut yang diikat tangan serta ditandakan.
Pemeriksaan lanjut mendapati, kereta berkenaan menggunakan nombor pendaftaran palsu dan bersangkutan dengan laporan polis Seberang Jaya pada 2010.
Rondaan oleh anggota sama diteruskan di lokasi sama sebelum menemui sebuah lagi kereta bercermin gelap dalam keadaan mencurigakan di Kilometer 68 Lebuhraya Utara
Selatan kira-kira jam 4.30 pagi semalam.
Seperti kejadian pertama, arahan untuk memberhentikan kenderaan tidak diendahkan, malah suspek nekad melanggar palang di Plaza Tol Gurun sebelum terbabas ketika melalui simpang dekat pekan Gurun.
Pemeriksaan mendapati, kenderaan terbabit dipandu remaja lelaki rakyat tempatan berusia 17 tahun ditemani rakan perempuan berusia 22 tahun.
Pemeriksaan lanjut turut menemui enam warga asing di tempat duduk belakang sementara tiga lagi dalam but kereta, dengan tangan berikat.
Kesemua warga asing yang ditahan berusia antara 12 hingga 30 tahun dipercayai mangsa sindiket penyeludupan manusia.
Ketua Polis Daerah Kuala Muda, Asisten Komisioner Khalil Arifin mengesahkan mereka ditahan dan laporan dibuat di Balai Polis Gurun.

Thai man dies while talking on his charging iPhone

a.. A Thai man from Chanthaburi province died laying on the floor talking on his iPhone while it was charging.
The police were called by the victim's father to the house and found a body of a 28-year-old man laying on the floor, topless with red short pants. In his left hand he was holding a black iPhone 4S connected to a charger that was in the power outlet.
Local police suspect that the deceased was using the phone in bed while he was falling asleep. A burn was found on the left side of his chest, and the left hand that was holding the iPhone was burnt to the extent that his skin had stuck to it.
The young man's father said that normally his son goes to bed around 11pm. He usually sleeps on the floor without a shirt, just as he was found. The father said he could hear his son making noises but thought he was just sleep-walking. Then in the morning, the father went into his young man's room and found him dead.
Initially, police suspect the cause of death is from electrocution via the phone charger. There's no confirmation whether the iPhone charger and cable were genuine or fake, but photos supplied to Thailand's Dailynews site show the iPhone's wall plug is blue, which means it's not a standard-issue iPhone charger – always a dangerous thing.
Local authorities are awaiting the autopsy result to confirm the cause of death.
We have seen similar cases with charging iPhones in China and Thailand.

So, we have cases of overheating devices leading to fire that are reported and highlighted - curiously without any statistics to the number of people that are surely using the device as it is charging vs the number of victims of such fires. I would hazard a guess that the *difference* would be staggering.

I think this goes to all phone types. Juz dont talk or sms while charging. In fact the frequencies are very dangerous, who knows it could triggers cancer if you sleep with your phone everyday...

This is few case involved iPhone better for apple check what when wrong with the charger or the company apple assigned.there a hundred million of people using iPhone.we spend money buying the branded products and also risk our life when we use it.

Lelaki berusia 21 tahun yang disyaki terlibat dalam beberapa kejadian ragut sebelum ini berjaya ditangkap dengan bantuan orang ramai.
JENGKA - Seorang lelaki berusia 21 tahun terima padah apabila dipukul seorang wanita ketika cuba meragut beg tangan wanita di Bandar Tun Abdul Razak Jengka, kira-kira jam 4.40 petang, semalam.
Dalam kejadian tersebut, wanita dalam lingkungan 30-an itu dikatakan sedang berada di sebuah kedai menjual barangan kosmetik dan meletakkan beg tangan di atas meja kaunter untuk melakukan pembayaran.
Secara tiba-tiba, lelaki terbabit datang dari arah belakang lalu mengambil beg tangan tersebut sebelum membawa lari ke arah motosikal yang diletak kira-kira 10 meter dari tempat kejadian.
Mangsa yang menyedari kejadian itu bertindak mengejar lelaki berkenaan sehingga berlaku pergelutan sebelum mangsa menjerit meminta tolong.
Pergelutan itu menyebabkan motosikal yang ditongkat tumbang dan mangsa turut terjatuh akibat ditolak lelaki berkenaan.
Mangsa kemudiannya bangun lalu menendang dan memijak beberapa kali di bahagian perut serta dada lelaki terbabit.
Lelaki yang dipercayai beralamat di sebuah tanah rancangan Felda bukan dalam daerah Maran itu cuba melarikan diri, namun berjaya ditangkap dengan bantuan orang ramai.
Menurut saksi kejadian, orang ramai yang berada berdekatan bergegas ke kedai berkenaan selepas terdengar jeritan mangsa meminta pertolongan kerana diragut.
Mangsa bagaimanapun tercedera dan mendapatkan rawatan di Hospital Jengka dan menerima tujuh jahitan di belakang kepala selain bengkak rusuk kiri, melecet bahagian belakang badan serta lebam betis kanan.
Sementara itu, Ketua Polis Daerah Maran, Pemangku Deputi Superintenden Sulaiman A Hamid mengesahkan kejadian itu dan kes disiasat di bawah Seksyen 394 Kanun Keseksaan kerana mendatangkan cedera ketika samun tanpa senjata api.
